01About the role

  • Support the kitchen brigade across all sections
  • Learn authentic Mexican techniques: nixtamal, salsas, slow cooking
  • Prep mise en place to spec and keep stations clean
  • Maintain HACCP records and allergen handling
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the head chef on opening recipes

02Requirements

  • Some kitchen experience (apprenticeship, college or junior role)
  • Hunger to learn and to work hard during opening months
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willing to obtain pre-opening)
  • Eligible to work in the UK

03Good to have

  • Speak Spanish
  • Latin American cuisine background

01About the role

  • Keep the kitchen running: pot wash, dishwash, deep cleans
  • Receive deliveries and rotate stock (FIFO)
  • Support chefs with prep when needed
  • Maintain hygiene standards and waste segregation

02Requirements

  • Reliable, fit and ready to move at service pace
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Available evenings and weekends

03Good to have

  • Previous KP or back-of-house experience
  • Speak Spanish

  • 1+ year of waiting experience in a busy restaurant
  • Confident English; warm, attentive, fast on your feet

How we got here

We grew up eating like this.

Markets. Neighbourhood kitchens. Long family tables. Tortillas made by hand, one at a time. Salsas that change with the season. Maize nixtamalised the night before, because the next day it shows.

We moved to Cambridge and that food wasn't here. Not the version we grew up with. So we stopped looking for it and started cooking it.

Mexuk is that kitchen. Mexican food cooked the slow way, in Cambridge, by people who know the difference. British produce where it makes sense. Mexican technique where it matters.

The doors are open. We're in soft opening: walk-ins only while we settle the kitchen and lock the menu. The Grand Opening comes soon. Come eat with us before everyone else does.
